System Requirements/Windows NT Workstation 4.0

Don't know if Windows NT® Workstation will run on your computer?

Here are the minimum system requirements:

  • Computer/Processor: Intel-based systems-Pentium or faster; RISC-based systems-workstation with Alpha AXP, MIPS R4X00, or PowerPC processor.
  • Memory: 32 megabytes (MB); 64 MB recommended
  • Hard Disk: 110 MB of available hard disk space
  • Drive: CD-ROM drive or access to CD-ROM over a computer network
  • Display: VGA or higher-resolution display adapter
  • Peripheral/Miscellaneous: Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device
  • When purchasing a new computer, new portables should include manufacturer-supplied Plug and Play as well as power management capabilities. To take full advantage of the new generation of applications, newly purchased PCs should have a minimum of 64 MB RAM and include hardware management features such as Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI).
