This update addresses a vulnerability in Internet Explorer that might allow a hacker to bypass certain Internet Explorer security safeguards.
This issue could allow a malicious hacker to misrepresent the URL of an Internet Web site, causing the site to be treated by Internet Explorer's Security Zones feature as if it were located on an Intranet. Customers who follow safe Internet computing practices are extremely unlikely to encounter this issue during the course of normal Web browsing. A hacker must purposefully misrepresent the URL of a site and then create malicious code for a user to be affected by this issue.
The 'Dotless IP Address' patch can help your computing remain secure.
There have not been any reports of customers being affected by this problem.
